Isolation transformers are designed for use with AC and DC adjustable speed drives. In Isolation transformers they have the primary and secondary winding that are kept separate. Without connecting the two circuits, these transformers allow an AC signal or power to be taken from one device and fed into another. Isolation transformers can be used to block transmission of DC signals but allow AC signals to pass.
